Microsoft Corporation Launches Standalone Email App Called “Send”

Recently, Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) launched its new email app called Send. Venture Beatreports that the newly-revealed app is exclusively available for iOS users. For now, it is only available in the US and Canada. Rumors about Microsoft’s new email app, which have been afloat since May, mentioned that it would be named Flow.
Send is an interesting take on email communication, and is built to provide convenience to users. The app joins a long list of Microsoft apps that have attained cross-platform success.

The Windows maker already has the Outlook app; however, the new app makes email conversations quicker. Users don’t see subject lines or signatures in Send, and its primary focus is to facilitate quick and easy email communication within an organization. The app could easily be confused with text-messaging service. Send’s short conversation model includes preset responses, such as “I’m running 10 minutes late,” and “Where is the meeting?”
According to Microsoft, this app will connect to a person’s Outlook account, so it can fetch data that includes contacts and conversations. Outlook will show messages sent from both native Outlook and Send. The app will also be available for business and school versions of Office 365.Microsoft has opted for a limited roll-out as of now, so that it can collect feedback about the new app. A wider roll-out is expected within months.
